Liam reviewed 12/27/81 for you which also included an excellent first set. Passenger, Deep Elum and Sugaree are stellar too.
12/28/81 is fine in its own right. This is the one that is neglected, because the other four shows from this week were so damn hot.

A great show that has seemingly been neglected
A darn good ending to a darn good year- while not quite the last show, this performance is totally worthy of its 81 brethren. It is solid throughout- but especially terrific from the Playin on out. I have to admit I downloaded the show from Etree so I had a beautiful board to listen to, but this playin gets out there for 81 but is perfect in its own context- no part of it is in discord or disgreement with any other part. The wheel has a truly sweet intro and outro jam- the wharf rat is solid, and the Sugar Mag is a tip top performance, with Phil bombs galore- you can never download too much of 1981

The Kaiser Runs
Free camping in downtown Oakland, lake fishing, and Uncle Bobo's Free New Years Breakfast.....Think the 12-31-81 tickets were $25.00, all the other shows were $18.00.

I was 14 years old
My first show! My mom and Her future Husband gave me a ride and dropped me off in Oakland with a young female friend of mine from school. When they dropped us off they, they told us to meet them outside at 11:00. Little did I know it would only be the end of the first set at that time. So I had to leave early. As much as it pained me to do so, It was more than enough of an experience to change my life.
I think its a good show!
